If you're looking for versatile, skin-friendly foods, then tomatoes should be your first choice. These handy little fruits can be used in a wide range of dishes. In addition to being packed with moisture, tomatoes help to increase cellular turnover and repair damage. Also, they great for soothing the skin and getting rid of painful sunburns or unsightly acne breakouts.
Speaking of versatile foods, bell peppers can work their way into numerous breakfast, lunch and dinner options. In general, bell peppers are more than 90% water, so they'll definitely increase your body's hydration. On top of that, they're also a good source of several skin-essential vitamins, including vitamin B, vitamin C, zinc, potassium, calcium and iron, all of which will give your skin the nutrition it needs to thrive.
Okay, so maybe celery isn't the most exciting food, but it is good for your skin. For starters, these leafy sticks are almost entirely made up of water, with a moisture level of over 95%. Plus, since they contain no sugar, they won't exacerbate inflammation or irritation. Moreover, spinach has high levels of antioxidants, helping to eliminate the impact of harmful UV rays and allowing your skin to retain more hydration.
Another powerful water-rich vegetable is cucumber. Whether you slice them up for salads or use them in stir-fry, cucumbers are a great way to add moisture to your skin. Also, since they're rich in vitamin C, cucumbers have been proven to reduce inflammation, repair irritation and improve cellular turnover.
