Green vegetables, such as peppers, broccoli, peas and kale are powerful antioxidants, which will help your skin to fight off harmful free radicals and stop it from aging prematurely. Also, eating green vegetables has been proven to reduce the signs of wrinkles and crow's feet.
One of the most versatile foods on the planet is also one of the best foods for your skin. Tomatoes are packed with lycopene, which will help protect your skin from damaging UV rays and allow it to heal more quickly from sunburns. On top of that, tomatoes are a great source of vitamin C, a vitamin that works to stop acne outbreaks and to help heal blemishes faster after they've formed.
If you're worried about your waistline, then the term "fat" might be kind of scary, but some fats are actually good. Such is the case with fatty fish, such as salmon, herring, sardines and tuna. These fish are chock-full of omega-3 fatty acids, which can do wonders for your skin. Not only do they help your body to retain moisture, allowing your skin to better absorb much-needed hydration, but they also slow down the aging process, fighting off fine lines and wrinkles.
Whether you're looking for a meat alternative or you're just interested in switching up your proteins, soy is a great option for your skin. Soy is a great source of a compound called aglycone, which has two very special skin-friendly properties. For starters, it noticeably improves skin elasticity. Secondly, it also helps to stop the collagen in your skin from breaking down, allowing your skin to be more firm and supple and taking years off of your appearance.
