An Overview

Much like radiofrequency ablation, a thin catheter is gently inserted into the affected vein through the skin. The catheter contains a laser that heats the vein and causes it to close. After the catheter is withdrawn, the closed vein is reabsorbed in the body and the blood supply is rerouted through healthier veins.

Dr. Cunningham and his staff are top-notch professionals, but at the same time, feel like friends/family. His office is extremely efficient, and his office manager is tremendously helpful in navigating insurance, payment, scheduling, etc. I especially appreciate the early morning appointments to reduce my time away from work. Although I wouldn't wish vein disease on anyone, I would highly recommend Dr. Cunningham and his staff to anyone who needs help.

Very professional. There was only that one time that I didn't know that I was supposed to have stage 2 sclerotherapy but was not told so I wasn't able to prepare myself for the needlesticks. I thought I just came for ultrasound since nobody explained it to me. It wasn't so bad but mindset for me is very important. It's a long process but well worth it.
